SHORT DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT Burmeister & Partners was appointed to do the planning of a township for Sonangol for ± 2 500 erven in Viana. Viana is located approximately 40km east of Luanda in Angola. The erven were required for staff housing for Sonangol. After the approval of the planning report, Burmeister & Partners conducted the full detail design for the water, sewer, electricity and surfaced roads of the 2 492 erven, including the tender documentation. The designs included the design of a 3 mega liter storage and 367m³ elevated reservoir for potable water for this development. A treatment plant was specified for the treatment of the sewer on site to an acceptable standard for disposal. The estimated cost for the development is in the order of USD 30 million.
