SHORT DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT

Phase 1: Implementation
The capturing of the total Namibian road network on a GIS. Data includes all bridges, road signs and any other features attributable to a road network. GPS was used as one method to capture roads. The design of a road network definition on a database server was also included in the project. The user requirements to link other management systems to GIS were also done, as well as the documentation for the User Manual etc.

Phase 2: Maintenance as appointed
Road Referencing System Manager
Capturing and manipulation of all new road characteristics and definitions after new proclamations and road network changes. Maintenance and improvement on an ongoing basis of the integrated roads database.
