SHORT DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT

Provision of a new irrigation scheme at a resettlement farm for intensive vegetable cultivation for the Ministry of Lands and Resettlement. Aspects of the designs included :

• Dredging of an existing well in the Nossob river
• Bulk water abstraction scheme utilising a hybryd energy sources [solar powered and Nampower mains] from open well and boreholes
• Gabion water retaining structure
• Booster pump system incorporating online fertigation, sand filtration and bulk water storage reservoirs
• New drip irrigation scheme with approx. 12,000 drippers covering 1ha irrigable space
• 1 ha Shadenet structure with supports
• Electric Fencing
