SHORT DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT

The project entailed the rehabilitation of the entire irrigation system to enable the cultivation of vegetables under protection on Unit C of Ongombo West.

The irrigation system design included the dredging of bulk water supply well in the Nossob river, solar pumping systems, bulk water supply pipe network, water storage reservoirs, a 1.0ha drip irrigation network with booster pumps, filtration system and a 1ha UV radiation reduction netting. Beneficiaries of the project are the Namibia Former Robben Island Prisoners Trust.
