SHORT DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT

Rural water scheme consisting of approximately 30 km main pipe line (diameter ø 400 mm - 200 mm) and 180 km branch lines (diameter 200 mm - 32 mm) to 64 settlements, villages, schools and clinics, including ground and elevated storage, water points, communal washing basins and cattle troughs. Community liaison and participation through water committees resulted in the labour component of the branch lines being done on a voluntary basis by the people served by the scheme.
