CELEBRATING 40 YEARS OF ENGINEERING EXCELLENCE
In 2018, we celebrated our 40th year of existence as well as the inauguration of our landmark new design studio in Suiderhof, Windhoek. The spectacular evening was well attended by Namibian and international guests.
Special Guest, Madam First Lady Monica Geingos, delivered the keynote address and touched on important matters such as gender equality in the workplace, a plea for kerbing gender-based violence, the importance of social responsibility and also the necessity for business integrity, which sustains businesses and provides resilience in economic trying times, such as what Namibia is currently experiencing. She also commended the management team of our firm for setting an example on sustainable succession planning.
Key speakers, the Managing Director of our Company (2005 - present), Mr Ronald Kubas and also the company’s now-retired Founder, Mr Gerdus Burmeister (1978 - 2015), gave a historic overview of how Burmeister and Partners was founded in 1978 and grew steadily to become one of the most recognisable Namibian owned multi-disciplinary engineering brands. Building on 40-years’ experience and with more than 60 staff members in various engineering fields of expertise, the company offers potential Clients a skilful and experienced technical partner in any new project formation. We have weathered several testing economic cycles in Namibia and remain resilient, and committed to social upliftment by re-investing in our staff and communities.
We have grown to become a company that lives up to its motto, which is “African Solutions for uniquely African Problems”. We pride ourselves in our capability to deliver professional engineering services in the commercial, residential, industrial, energy, agricultural and infrastructure sectors. We service large and small scale projects and offer project management services as well as facilitation of project finance and technical advisory services on PPP projects. A trail of noteworthy large-scale historic projects such as the Namibia National Rugby Stadium, the Elisenheim and Finkenstein urban developments, the Government Aircraft Hangar Terminal building, the Nictus Showroom, the Fresh Produce markets in Ongwediva and Rundu, the NAMPORT Container terminal and many others were highlighted.
Our firm looks to the future, embracing the aspiration of remaining a key engineering partner in any future development project on the continent. Although we remain committed to our home base in Namibia, we have adopted a path of exporting specialised skills and services into the rest of Africa. Such initiatives will enhance and ensure the sustainability of the business, further contributing to the Namibian economy and our people.
We wish to thank each attending guest of the event for a memorable evening, with a special heartfelt word of thanks to Madam First Lady Monica Geingos.
