SHORT DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT

Pre-Feasibility and Detail Feasibility Study and Environmental Impact Assessment for a proposed new dam and hydropower scheme in the lower Cunene river in association with Angolan, Swedish and Norwegian consultants. Aspects studied included a power market survey, hydrological study, sedimentological investigations, study of alternative water uses, power system studies, various dam site alternatives, alternative energy sources, geological and seismic studies, limnological studies, estuarine studies, botanical studies, aquatic ecological studies, fisheries studies, tourism potential studies, socio-economical studies, archaeological investigations, medical studies, etc.
