SHORT DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT

Roads DR 3644 (Ompundja to Eheke) and DR3645 (Onyaanya to Onanke) that were constructed with labour base methods and are in the final stages of completion.

The main objectives of the roads are to improve accessibility to rural communities like schools, clinics and other places of interest. The construction works are structured in such a way to make maximum use of the local people to provide the labour. In this way, a significant investment is injected back into the local economy.

DR 3644 is 14.8km and DR 3645 is 42.3 km. The total number of jobs created over the contract period was 30,750 person days on DR3644 and 96,315 person days on DR3645 with almost a 50:50 gender distribution.
