SHORT DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT MR100 runs for 54km in a westerly direction from Mr67 to Opuwo. The existing gravel road is the main access to Opuwo, the administrative capital of the Kunene Region. It is therefore a road link of national importance. The total length of the road to be upgraded is 55km. In addition, it is expected to form part of the future Northern: East-West Corridor meant to link the coast at Cape Fria with the countries to the north-east of Namibia through the Omusati, Oshana, Ohangwena, Kavango and Caprivi Regions via the newly completed Trans-Caprivi Highway. It is thus also expected to serve international traffic in the future. SERVICES PROVIDED
